Mrs. H. asked if supper could still be arranged for that day, with late notice being as her husband was in critical condition and she was uncertain about the situation. I reached out to Chumy (our devoted meals coordinator), who informed me that a volunteer cook had offered to sponsor a family's supper that day as a zchus on the day of her daughter’s wedding.
I passed the offer along to Mrs. H, and she was overjoyed, quickly placing her order for what she wanted from which store.
However, within those few minutes, the cook's offer was used for another family. Not wanting to disappoint Mrs. H., I decided to cover the cost of the order myself. I recorded the total amount of $137.75, planning to take it off my maaser from my next paycheck.
The following week, after receiving my paycheck, I checked the maaser balance... which turned out to be $138!!
